A series of meetings dedicated to people living with the condition of autism or who are interested in learning about it, but also to anyone with an interest in exploring this new approach to art.
In collaboration with the Italian Swiss Autism Association (asi), ATD Accademia Teatro Dimitri SUPSI and MASI Lugano, we are happy to initiate an innovative artistic path to explore painting, music and storytelling and to create poems and songs inspired by the paintings on display within the exhibition Sentiment and Observation. Art in Ticino from 1850-1950. The MASI Collection. Using the paintings as a starting point, participants will be guided to play with words and music, bringing to life works that evoke situations, stories and ideas in original and entertaining ways. People with autism spectrum disorder, family caregivers and anyone interested in discovering new approaches to the arts are invited to this series of meetings.
Through meeting, listening and looking, the group will be accompanied to create poetic, musical and performance materials that will be worked on together. The spark that will ignite individual and collective imagination will consist of viewing the works of art found at The MASI Collection. Participants will be able to create poetic compositions and melodic pieces according to their own vision and will be given tools to propose their compositions to the public. At the last meeting of the cycle, the materials created during the course will be the subject of an exhibition presentation during the Museum's opening hours.
The course will be taught by Sylvia Bagli and Giampaolo Gotti (actors, directors and teachers at the Dimitri Academy) and Alex Gasparotto (singer, guitarist, composer and arranger).
The series of meetings is divided and developed in six stages, which form a unified path. The meetings have their own pedagogical succession. For this reason, it is recommended to follow the entire cycle. To reach the activity when the cycle has already started, it is necessary to apply to the trainers.
