Artistic programming is one of the constituent characteristics of the LAC, a driving force behind its identity. Each year, the shows on the programme are presented under a single title, a theme that carries an artistic vision, an interpretation of a need. The cornerstones of this vision are the shows produced directly by the LAC, by the team of technicians and professionals that in the four years of the structure's life has been formed and consolidated under the direction of an expert director such as Carmelo Rifici, on the strength of his long experience at the Piccolo in Milan and, of course, the talent and intuition of local artists, who have finally found the space and tools to realise their projects here.
Today, 30% of the theatre and dance performances staged at the LAC are the result of direct production or co-production with other theatres, and taking into account the dozens of performances on tour in Switzerland and beyond, they represent over 50% of the actual performances. This is an important contribution to local and international creativity, which will be maintained in the future, with the desire to expand both the scope of co-productions and the opportunities for visibility of important local artistic resources.
