Tanzfaktor is a biennial project by Reso – Dance Network Switzerland, which was created to encourage and support young contemporary dance companies by offering them the opportunity to present their productions to a wider public and to network with operators in the sector from various regions in Switzerland.

The project is open to five companies selected in a competition by a panel of judges composed of operators taking part in the tour. Tanzfaktor provides the tools needed to carry out a national tour of the theatres and festivals that are members of Reso, as well as helping arrange meetings with professionals.

Not Where, but Who

The choreographer and dancer Oriana Zeoli (aka Glory) presents a solo popping show in which she contrasts the eccentric movements of her arms and bends of her knees with impulsive and rhythmic movements of her shoulders, isolating the movement in individual parts of her body. Glory not only masters the great gap between urban and contemporary dance, but also manages to bring these two disciplines together within her body with extreme precision, combining them with music. As a hybrid body, she playfully questions the institutional separation of these two techniques, inviting them to enter into dialogue.

Aléa

How does water deform the body? What new pathways does the liquefied body take? Round, fluid movements clash with hard lines, moments of radical stillness contrast with the infinite vortices of the body. In Aléa, the performers Lena Schattenberg and Simea Cavelti pay poetic tribute to water, a substance that is both essential for life and fatal. Water is seen as a material that connects the internal spaces of the body to the external world.

Idiospect

The relationship between delimitation and the resulting exclusion, and the way we tackle this dilemma, are at the centre of Idiospect, a work in which Tamara Mancini and Branca Scheidegger create an organic movement inspired by waacking, an urban dance style that developed in the gay community of Los Angeles in the 1970s, of which the performers are pioneers in Switzerland. With great delicacy and skill, Mancini and Scheidegger offer a piece full of energy that encourages everyone to fight for the freedom they need.

ΑΕΝΑΟΣ

ΑΕΝΑΟΣ means perpetual, continuous, that which begins again and again. In this solo performance, the choreographer and dancer from Neuchâtel, Maxime Jeannerat, performs repetitive drills and pushes his body to its physical limits; the intimate lighting transforms the empty stage into the surface on which human existence is projected. How do we react to life's difficulties? Does the experience we gain over the years change the way we deal with difficult situations? Jeannerat brings these questions directly to the stage.

Contraste

The urban dance company Cie Nous et Moi – composed of the dancers from Fribourg, Charlotte Cotting, Estelle Kaeser, Adrien Rako, and Anaïs Kauer – presents a collective choreography that explores the different aspects of the term "contrast". The movements are meticulously coordinated, both synchronised and alternating, creating compositions that change, adapting to the accompanying score. Variations in size, speed, and intensity blend with the physical vocabulary of urban dance. The precise and subtle movements weave a choreography punctuated by sudden, surprising twists and turns, inviting the audience to embark on a journey full of surprises.
