Marco D’Agostin, winner of the Premio Ubu for best performer “Under 35” is the author of this work which he conceived with and for Marta Ciappina, a unique interpreter on the Italian dance scene who shares her overwhelming life experiences with the audience inviting them into the brightest and darkest corners of her story.

Someone once wrote that an insurmountable barrier exists between events in the past and how they appear to us now, shrouded in a strange sense of unreality. The choreography of Gli anni is an attempt to overcome that barrier: the luminous story of one individual - Marta Ciappina, a unique interpreter on the Italian dance scene because of the artistic pathway she took and her particular technique – invites the audience to play with their own memories. Marta’s body and the eyes of those watching her set out on a journey that alternates between the present – the time of the performance, romantic and unrepeatable – and the past of everyone of us, in a plot of comings and goings that mixes stories, songs and memories. The shadow of a novel stretches slowly over the stage and auditorium: the invitation is to write it together, a work written by a hundred hands that urges us to walk through the ruins with our heads held up high.
