The ninth edition of the Colazioni letterarie festival promoted in collaboration with the Società Dante Alighieri Lugano continues with a classic by the master of realism in French literature: Gustave Flaubert and Madame Bovary, staged at the LAC and directed by Stefano Cordella.

A dialogue in two voices, those of Antonella Lattanzi and Yvonne Pesenti, around Gustave Flaubert's Madame Bovary, a pivotal novel about love obsession and the desire that devours. Beginning with the figure of Emma Bovary, the discussion will expand to other books that have investigated the same tension - from blind passion to escape from the ordinary - highlighting how literature has shaped, over the centuries, the infinite nuances of the restlessness of desire.

And if literature remains an inexhaustible source of inspiration for theater, in December it will be under the direction of Stefano Cordella that Madame Bovary will be staged. Focusing on the relationship between Emma and Charles Bovary, Cordella will tell, through scenes of a marriage, brief glimpses of a love that is constantly being questioned, always being tested.

Antonella Lattanzi, born in Bari in 1979, is an Italian writer and screenwriter. Her best-known novels include Understanding Other People's Hearts (2024) and Una storia nera e Cose che si raccontano, winner of the 2024 Wondy Prize. Her works deal with themes of trauma and complex relationships. He has also written for film and television.
