A table covered with objects from times gone by. A boy, Giovannino, sets off into the world: he isn’t quite sure where he’s going, nor what he’ll be looking for, but he walks, meets people, loses things, and learns. And, without realising it, he grows up.
Giovannino and What Will Be is a theatrical coming-of-age tale, loosely based on the traditional story The Body Without a Soul, reworked by Italo Calvino, but transformed into a personal and symbolic narrative that speaks to children of the times in which they live. A journey full of objects that come to life, obstacles turned into opportunities, and encounters that change one’s view of the world.
On stage, everyday objects, mechanisms and materials become symbols and characters in the narrative, depicting worlds and moods with lightness, irony and poetry.
A show designed for children who are growing up, who are learning to interpret the world through stories too. Every object on stage opens up a possibility; every encounter leaves a trace.
A simple and direct tale, inviting us to set off on a journey alongside Giovannino, with curiosity and an open mind.
