Transcriptions originales de Giampaolo Testoni d’après les grandes chansons de George Gershwin.

One of the most influential composers and pianists of the 20th century, George Gershwin redefined the musical language of his time, breaking down the barriers between jazz and classical music, and between Broadway and the concert hall. With his famous Rhapsody in Blue and a repertoire that has become firmly embedded in the collective imagination, he demonstrated how seemingly distant worlds could converge into a unified and innovative musical vision.

This project pays tribute to that spirit with an elegant and original programme: the most iconic pieces from Broadway and Porgy and Bess are reinterpreted by the intense and refined voice of Greta Panettieri, one of the leading figures in Italian jazz, backed by significant experience in New York and a solid international career. Joining her is a high-profile string quartet led by Duccio Beluffi, comprising musicians active at La Scala and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

Conceived by Professor Luca Cerchiari (IULM University, Milan), the project features original arrangements by Giampaolo Testoni, commissioned by the LAC, which highlight the dialogue between chamber music composition and the language of popular music. The result is a coherent journey that deeply respects the Gershwinian spirit, founded on encounter and cross-pollination.
