KISS! (Loving Kills) is the second chapter in the research on love conducted by the Treppenwitz Collective, one of the most innovative and promising realities of the Ticino independent theatre scene.
This research had begun with the play L'amore ist nicht une chose for everybody (Loving Kills), staged at the LAC in the 2018/19 season and selected for the Swiss Theatre Meeting 2020. After tackling the more liquid and generational aspect of love, the Treppenwitz Collective now delves into a more unconscious and less rational dimension of love, moving between the impossibility of defining it and the difficulty of understanding it. The kiss unites the place of the word with that of the body: when one kisses, it is no longer possible to speak and the body is transformed into a new alphabet.
On stage, a forest, a metaphor for a place where one gets lost in search of oneself, and a small house, a symbol of the intimate and private.
Moving on the boundary between darkness and light, between presence and absence, four performers - two men and two women - shape and mirror each other, in a game of doubles and the relationship with the other: the other me or the other from me, the masculine and the feminine, the one and its multitude, being and non-being.
The work moves on the borderline between spectacle, performance and installation, playing with the perception of things, time, relationships and oneself.
