Swiss artists Melanie Durrer and Alina Immoos are the protagonists of a performance that explores the reasons behind certain disappearances: men who vanish, captains who refuse to face shipwreck, emotionally absent fathers who shirk their responsibilities and vanish without a word.

A child waits on his father’s folding dinghy. The weather is fine, the air smells of sun cream and worn plastic, the sun burns on the skin. But the wait lasts almost two decades: a father who shirks responsibility, who procrastinates, who disappears.
Almost twenty years ago, the Costa Concordia listed and sank due to a reckless manoeuvre by Captain Schettino. “The captain is the last to abandon ship,” says an unwritten law of the sea. A long tradition, a matter of honour – like many things in patriarchy. Schettino, however, is the first to leave the ship and does not return.
Two ships, two captains, and the same pattern repeating itself. Get [the fuck] on board weaves through these images to tell the story of men who vanish just when the situation becomes critical: emotionally absent fathers, figures who slip away, responsibilities abandoned without a word.
On stage, the two performers set out to discover the reason behind these disappearances. They question what remains of these fathers within them, and whether it is possible to break away from inherited patterns to imagine new forms of care. And, in the end, a simple and disarming question: when will someone finally come along to put sun cream on our faces?
