The young Alessandro Bandini gives voice and body to the poignant and mysterious love story between Italian writer, playwright, director and painter Giovanni Testori and French art dealer and gallery owner Alain Toubas. PER SEMPRE is a show about the need to feel unconditionally loved and about pain, a visceral cry for love, a cry not to be forgotten.
The extensive correspondence between Testori and his beloved Toubas, consisting of letters written in French – never translated, transcribed or published to date – drawings and postcards, highlights an overflowing and at times blackmailing love, a disarming and unprecedented humanity, a side of the writer from Novate Milanese unknown to most, which offers the opportunity to re-read part of his work with a new, original and contemporary perspective.
The focus of this work is the all-encompassing, hand-to-hand confrontation with Testori's words, words that, deeply embodied in those who utter them, are transformed into the endless struggle of a human being facing his own fears.
