An immersive experience combining visual art, improvised music, performance, sound and light design. Conceived by Lisa Lurati and Tatum Rush, Wanderer is an ephemeral living space that welcomes the intimate encounter between the work and the audience. An opportunity to go beyond the limits of classical forms of representation, proposing new symbiotic possibilities between different artistic languages.
Wanderer is an exhortation to become nomadic again, a free arcane figure, exploring the multitude of cultures and languages, through travelling light; free of superfluous materials and ideologies, structures and preconceptions. An existence that carries with it a baggage of purely essential, heterogeneous and anachronistic elements; necessary only for the expression of its own language.
The work is an invitation to re-examine our interactions with space, time, places and non-places, the visual, gestural and sound references that make up the archetypal sphere of our contemporaneity. Wanderer is a poetic super-organism, which develops its dramaturgy through the presence of the bodies that inhabit it. A microcosm made up of instruments, images and gestures, which intertwine and become wefts in the fabric of a flying carpet. A journey on the borders of the real and the imaginary, between prehistory and the anthropocene; and something to come.
