After the acclaim obtained by the Eutopiaproject , Trickster-p returns to deepen his research on play as a possible artistic form: The Game investigates the relationship between performance, play and society, wondering what potential might be revealed by the creation of a performative device that focuses on these very aspects.
Long perceived as banal and meaningless, the game has struggled to achieve the same cultural stature as “legitimate” art forms, and only recently has it become the subject of serious debate among philosophers, sociologists and anthropologists, who re-evaluate its value and repercussions also in artistic terms.
Starting from these reflections, Trickster-p creates a privileged space in which spectators can “play” the dynamics of complexity, and at the same time build collective tools for possible change.
The playing field with which we are invited to interact through The Game is contemporary society itself and, in particular, its relationship with money and the economic and market dynamics on which it is based. Money enters our lives on a daily basis, determining our fears, choices and concerns; money is an element of exchange, a means of personal affirmation, a resource and at the same time a taboo. Today, questions about money have a profound meaning, which definitely has to do with our daily lives. How much can we participate in the game of the market, or how much are we ourselves played? Is it possible to see the collective as a component of individual desires rather than a limitation of them?
Just as conventional theatrical performances allow us to experience lives we have not lived, play allows us to experience forms of action we would never have discovered on our own; The Game does not merely uphold existing social and cultural positions, but opens up the possibility of disrupting and modifying them, showing how fluid our power can be and how play means (also) questioning our identity through our actions.
The Game is a participatory and intergenerational project that invites people to come together and build together: children, adults and seniors of all ages, backgrounds and horizons are welcome.
