3rd Prismi Showcase

In May 2027, Vetrina Prismi returns—a festival dedicated to new Swiss drama, now in its third edition. A public presentation of the Prismi advanced training program—which originated within Luminanza—features six staged readings of original texts: four in Italian, written by Maria Clara Castioni, Ivana De Salvo, Chiara Gallo, and Elena Staufer and hosted at the LAC; and two from French- and German-speaking Switzerland, translated into Italian and presented at ChiassoLetteraria. Entrusted to Swiss and Italian directors and accompanied by in-depth discussion sessions, the readings highlight new voices in contemporary playwriting and foster dialogue among the country’s different linguistic regions. 

From 20 October to 30 November 2026, applications are open for Prismi 2027, a training and professional development programme devised by Luminanza – a hub for contemporary Italian-language Swiss drama – to support the cultural, professional and artistic development of playwrights from Italian-speaking Switzerland.
For this edition, Prismi is introducing a significant new feature: those selected will work on the theatrical adaptation of a work of fiction linked to Switzerland, chosen from a shortlist of eight titles, ranging from a faithful rewriting to a work ‘inspired by’ the original. The text will then be presented as a staged reading at the LAC, as part of the Prismi 2028 Showcase.
