Ólafur Arnalds, an award-winning Icelandic artist, composer and producer, brings to the LAC a sonic universe in which piano, strings and electronic music come together in a minimalist yet deeply evocative style. One of the most recognisable voices on the contemporary scene, he has developed a personal musical language that transcends genres, blending classical sensibilities with experimental sound to create a direct and immersive listening experience.

Falling Apart Together is the most daring and innovative project of Ólafur Arnalds’ career, born out of a desire to break down the distance that separates us. Halfway between a concert and a performance, the show reveals the layers we build to protect ourselves, the moments when these defences falter, and the shared humanity that emerges when we find the courage to show our vulnerability.
Together with his close-knit group of musicians and collaborators, Arnalds creates an immersive experience that weaves together compositions from his repertoire with new pieces, transcending the boundaries of the traditional concert and redefining its language.
Following the international success of his re:member and some kind of peace tours – which sold out legendary venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall, Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, the Sydney Opera House and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, captivating hundreds of thousands of audiences worldwide – Ólafur Arnalds returns with his most intimate and visionary work yet.
Falling Apart Together explores what can happen when we allow ourselves to let down our defences, even if only for a moment, opening ourselves up to one another in a truly shared experience.

Born in Mosfellsbær in 1986, Ólafur Arnalds has established himself internationally as a central figure in the contemporary music scene, developing a personal style that intertwines piano, strings and electronics. His compositions occupy a borderland between the acoustic realm and experimental sound, suspended between contemporary sensibility and ambient atmosphere.
His compositions are distinguished by a balance between minimalism and attention to detail: essential piano lines, string textures and electronic interventions combine to form clear sonic structures, capable of creating intense atmospheres that evoke Nordic landscapes and moods.
Alongside his concert activities, he has also achieved widespread renown as a composer of music for film and television, receiving significant international recognition. His live performances reflect this dual nature: compositional rigour and expressive immediacy, creating an immersive and profoundly contemporary listening experience.
