Swiss composer, musician and producer Don Li brings Cosmotonic Super to the LAC, an immersive concert-installation housed within an inflatable structure of his own design. For around six hours, an ensemble of nine musicians and a performer transform the space into an open soundscape that visitors can wander through freely.
The Cosmotonic Super project transforms the LAC square into an immersive soundscape, open to the public. At its centre lies Orbital Garden Satellite: an inflatable structure conceived by Don Li that hosts a concert-installation lasting around six hours, freely accessible and experienceable in various ways: whilst stationary or on the move, entering and exiting the space.
An internationally active clarinettist, saxophonist and composer, Don Li has for years been developing projects that transcend the traditional concert format, exploring extended forms and constantly evolving soundscapes. Within the installation, an ensemble of nine musicians and one performer creates a musical flow that evolves over time, without a linear structure, inviting a personal and non-hierarchical listening experience.
At the heart of Don Li’s research lies the idea of music as an open experience, capable of questioning and crossing boundaries. Sound thus becomes a space to be inhabited rather than observed, an environment in which listening is freely constructed and renewed over time.
