A poetic and multi-layered tale which, taking as its starting point the mystery of the disappearance of the Italian physicist Ettore Majorana, weaves together science and life, philosophy and destiny, transforming an unsolved enigma into a delicate and profound reflection on the relationship between man, reality and the consequences of one’s choices.

In a room at the Hotel Bologna in Naples, Anna is sorting through papers and thoughts: she is there to uncover the truth about Ettore Majorana’s disappearance, which took place on 26 March 1938. But the room is not the physicist’s – and it is Majorana himself, inexplicably present, who tells her so.
Only partially surprised, Anna seizes the opportunity to question him. Majorana, however, cannot – or will not – answer: he is even unaware of the reason for his own presence. He would like to leave, but something is holding him back. And that something seems to have something to do with her.
The room thus transforms into a dreamlike, surreal space where two distinct spatial and temporal planes intertwine: the present of the dialogue between Anna and Majorana is overlaid by a plural, fragmented past, made up of lectures, letters, testimonies and encounters between scientists. A dizzying journey that attempts, perhaps in vain, to reconstruct and solve a mystery destined to remain unsolved.
