The LAC is live-streaming *Human Unreadable Act III* from the Whitney Museum in New York, the final chapter of the generative choreography project by the artistic duo Operator. A multimedia performance that weaves together dance, art, and technology, exploring the complex relationships between the human body and the digital world.

What remains of the human body when its movements are translated into code and absorbed by technological systems? This question gave rise to *Human Unreadable* , a project conceived in 2022 by Ania Catherine and Dejha Ti, founders of the artistic duo Operator, which culminates in *Act III* , a multimedia performance that had its world premiere at the Whitney Museum in New York as part of the exhibition *artport: A History of Internet Art .
Structured in three acts, the project intertwines choreography, algorithms, and blockchain technology, exploring the possibilities of translating human movement into digital language. After an initial phase dedicated to the creation of generative artworks and a second phase focused on revealing the choreographic sequences from which they originated, Act III brings movement back to its physical dimension: one hundred algorithmically generated choreographic scores come to life through the dancers’ bodies.
Blending dance, storytelling, and digital imagery, the performance reflects on the tensions between the body, ambition, and technology, shaping a journey of progressive rediscovery of the human.
Born from a collaboration between LAC and the Whitney Museum of American Art, the live stream is itself an audiovisual work of art, featuring multi-camera direction and real-time editing, creating a unique and unrepeatable experience. The livestream will also take place simultaneously at other cultural institutions, such as HEK (Basel), Nxt Museum (Amsterdam), PHI (Montréal), and the Victoria and Albert Museum (London).

Biography – Operator

Ania Catherine (1990, United States) and Dejha Ti (1985, United States) form the artistic duo Operator, whose work develops a critical and conceptual approach to experience, exploring the relationships between the body, technology, and the environment.
By combining the expertise of Dejha Ti, a multimedia artist and expert in human-machine interaction, with that of Ania Catherine, a choreographer and performer, the duo creates interdisciplinary works that transcend the boundaries between different artistic languages.
Their investigation into the themes of privacy and data-extraction technologies began with the installation *On View* (2019), commissioned by the SCAD Museum of Art, and continues with *Privacy Collection*, a series of works released over time that explore the tensions between privacy and transparency in blockchain technology. For the Human Unreadable project, Operator developed an innovative method of generative choreography recorded on the blockchain.
Throughout their careers, Ania Catherine and Dejha Ti have received numerous international awards, including two Lumen Prizes (2021 and 2023), the HOFA x Phillips Digital Art Award, an ADC Gold Cube, and an honorable mention at the S+T+ARTS Prize, in addition to being selected for MediaFutures, a program funded by the European Commission.
They have also participated as speakers at conferences and events at prestigious international institutions, including the Christie’s Art+Tech Summit, the University of Cambridge, Art Basel, ZKM, the Francisco Carolinum Museum, Bloomberg ART+TECHNOLOGY, and the MIT Open Doc Lab.
