Gianna lives alone. She leads a quiet, monotonous life made up of small, comforting routines. One day, during her usual walk, she stops, as usual, to look at the fish in the usual aquarium, which is in the window of the usual store, in front of which she usually passes. This time, however, something special happens: Gianna gets the impression that one of the fish is smiling at her. She can’t resist and decides to buy it and take it home. Now she has a quiet, unobtrusive friend with whom to share her days and her routine. Contrary to her expectations, the little fish’s presence will turn her life upside down. It will lead her to reflect on her loneliness, on the limits she has imposed on herself out of fear, and on the possibility of granting—and allowing herself—freedom and breathing deeply in the boundless sea.
The show, almost entirely without words, focuses on the evocative power of images and music, and emphasizes a visual and sensory language suitable even for the youngest children.
