The Story of a Man and His Shadow is a black-and-white animated film, a silent film featuring two real-life actors. The scene opens on an empty stage: no objects on set, just the light slowly growing brighter. A character bursts in, representing an ordinary person who slowly builds his own destiny and future around an invisible house, sketched onto the stage with simple white lines. An unexpected figure disrupts his plans and begins to alter the carefree man’s normal life.
The parable and the dynamic between the two characters describe, in a simple and direct manner, the conflicts between human beings, between black and white, between good and evil, between a man and his shadow.
With very few stage props and an original use of live music, a story as old as time is told, unfolding amidst conflicts, misunderstandings, and gags that are both amusing and poetic.
