This concert presents a series of acousmatic and electroacoustic works that all explore the concepts of territory, habitat and place. These works enhance the space through various spatialisation techniques and are broadcast via a dome of loudspeakers.

A sound artist whose practice explores ‘body-system’ relationships within the context of live performance. Using bespoke instrument-systems, she creates connections between sound, movement, code/text and minimalist visual elements. Inspired by the somatic dimension of the body, she explores the notions of memory, feedback and sensory storytelling. Mimi is currently a Master’s student in Composition and Sound Design at the University of Montréal.

A composer and multi-instrumentalist working in the field of electroacoustic music. He holds a Master’s degree in urban sociology and is currently pursuing a PhD in music at the University of Montréal. His musical practice focuses on cybernetic systems utilising modular synthesizers, as well as a compositional approach based on field recordings and concatenative synthesis.

She is a sound artist and composer based in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. Her work explores hypnotic soundscapes, blending ethereal atmospheres with field recordings and autobiographical elements. Rooted in deep listening and well-being, her music creates intimate spaces conducive to introspection, whilst revealing the poetry of everyday sounds. She is part of her own project Echönymphia (with Coralie Gauthier) and the ensemble Audio Placebo Plaza (with Julia E. Dyck and Erin Gee).
 

They are an improvisational duo comprising Stephen Harvey and Dominic Thibault, who explore the creative possibilities of improvisation. Tout Croche perform their music in concert, release music on physical media and compose for film.

Electronic musician, composer, improviser, programmer, teacher, member of the duo Tout Croche and co-director of the label The Silent Howl. His music lies at the intersection of musique concrète, noise, minimal techno and soundscapes. Dominic Thibault is an associate professor at the Faculty of Music, University of Montréal, where he teaches composition, music computing and studio techniques. He is co-director of the Laboratoire Formes·Ondes and an active member of CIRMMT and OICRM. He serves as Research Axis Leader for Axis 4 (Expanded Musical Practice) on the CIRMMT executive committee. In his research-creation work, Dominic Thibault focuses on the interaction systems developed within the field of digital music, with particular attention to human-machine interactions and their impact on musical creation. His research-creation takes the form of electroacoustic compositions, audiovisual performances, music software and noise improvisations. His music has been released on the labels The Silent Howl, Entr'acte, Kohlenstoff and Mikro Climat.
