Following her triumph at the Salzburg Festival in the role of Abigaille in *Nabucco*, conducted by Riccardo Muti, Italian soprano Anna Pirozzi has established herself on the most prestigious Italian and international stages. Her recent engagements include *Un ballo in maschera* in Madrid, Vincenzo Bellini’s *Il pirata*, and Giuseppe Verdi’s *I due Foscari* at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, *Aida* in Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples, and *Manon Lescaut* at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo. In 2016, she made her debut at several leading international opera houses: at La Scala in Milan as Lucrezia Contarini in *I due Foscari*, at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich as Amelia in *Un ballo in maschera*, at the Royal Opera House in London as Leonora in *Il trovatore*, and at the San Francisco Opera as Maddalena in *Andrea Chénier*.

Soprano Anna Pirozzi is currently one of the most celebrated voices on the international opera scene. Shortly after her 2012 debut at the Teatro Regio in Turin in the role of Amelia in *Un ballo in maschera*, she went on to perform on the world’s greatest stages: the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala in Milan, the Paris Opera, the Vienna State Opera, the Arena di Verona, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the San Francisco Opera, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Teatro Real in Madrid, and many others. Throughout her career, she has become a true authority on the roles of Lady Macbeth in *Macbeth* and Abigaille in Verdi’s *Nabucco*, which she has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, in São Paulo, Bologna, Valencia, Beijing, Tel Aviv, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Berlin, Las Palmas, Menorca, Lyon, Paris, Bologna, Florence, Parma, Naples at La Scala, and other prestigious theaters. At the Arena di Verona in 2021, she celebrated her 100th performance in the role of Abigaille.
In 2023, she made her highly successful debut in the role of “Medea” in L. Cherubini’s opera of the same name at the Greek National Opera, a role she also performed on June 20, 2026, at the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, 65 years after the legendary 1961 production starring Maria Callas in the title role.
She is fresh off major successes at La Scala and the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where she played the role of Princess Turandot in Giacomo Puccini’s opera of the same name—a role for which she is now counted among the finest performers: in fact, in 2026 she will star at the Royal Opera House, the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, the Teatro di San Carlo, the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, the Arena di Verona, and other prestigious theaters. 
Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards, including the Puccini Prize, the Mirella Freni Prize (first edition), and the Arte Sostantivo Femminile Prize. Born in Naples, Anna Pirozzi began her vocal studies at the Music Institute of the Aosta Valley and continued her training at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Turin.
