“Aïchoucha,” Hentati explains, “is the affectionate nickname for my grandmother, Aïcha. When I was a child, she would lull me to sleep with her songs and enchant me with her stories.” Her life, through her loving gestures and her wisdom, has always struck me as a work of art in itself, a sublime hymn to existence. This captivating performance, which weaves together sound and image, springs
from those memories. A journey through time and space, exploring traditional Tunisian music, reinterpreted in a contemporary style through synthesizers, recordings, cassettes, CDs, and vinyl records. An immersive musical experience enhanced by the artist’s video footage, which creates a panoramic view—a vast window onto her homeland.
