Sunday 14 December

Teatro Foce

Freely inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale of the same name, La regina delle nevi is a show that, thanks to stage effects, lighting and 3D projections, multiplies the narrative and symbolic layers, offering the audience a poetic and unusual vision of time.

The story features two female characters: the Snow Queen, who uses her powers to enchant humans, turning them into automatons without memory or feelings, and Gerda, a brave little girl who faces a thousand adventures to free her friend Kay, who is being held prisoner by the Queen.
Against this backdrop, like in a game of mirrors, is the story of Margherita, a girl who loved listening to the fairy tale of the Snow Queen with her best friend, Giacomo, as told by her grandmother. Margherita never forgot that story, but unlike Gerda, she never found the courage to face her fears or give her personal story a “happy ending”.
Thanks to a dream, Margherita, now an adult, returns to her grandmother's house. There she rediscovers the places of her childhood and what she loved most: a wardrobe with a mirror that transforms into a magical door connecting fairy tales and reality, past and present.
Through this journey, Margherita faces her fears, defeats the Snow Queen and, finally, can truly become “grown up”.
