Antonio Ballista and Bruno Canino are one of the most famous piano duos on the international scene and certainly the most experienced, with seventy years of music together. To celebrate this exceptional milestone, Canino and Ballista present a fascinating and poetic programme in which the unrivalled interpretative harmony of the two soloists is once again evident as they explore a refined repertoire belle époque linked to the world of childhood.

Few artists have embodied the art of four-hand piano performance with the same depth and continuity as Antonio Ballista and Bruno Canino, a piano duo active since 1954 and now celebrating the 70th anniversary of their extraordinary career. The concert opens with Ravel's Sites auriculaires, a work that anticipates the orchestral sounds of his most famous works. This is followed by Fauré's Dolly, an intimate and delicate suite, and Ravel's Ma mère l'Oye, an enchanting suite inspired by fairy tales. The second part moves on to a more essential and modernist language with Debussy's Six épigraphes antiques, followed by Stravinsky's Three Easy Pieces and Five Easy Pieces. Ballista and Canino's interpretation, matured through decades of research and concerts on the world's most prestigious stages, promises to restore the most authentic essence of the works to the audience in a concert that is both a celebration and a renewal of the four-hand piano tradition.
