Avishai Cohen
Brightlight
The Avishai Cohen Trio is preparing to enchant the LAC audience with a concert that explores its unmistakable musical poetics: timeless melodies intertwine with surprising improvisations, creating a perfect balance between tradition and innovation. It is music that draws on the depth of tradition and curiosity for the new, always finding a point of connection between roots and movement. The jazz of the Avishai Cohen Trio is an exciting experience that surprises and touches the heart with every note.
Double bassist, composer and singer, Avishai Cohen has created a unique language that combines jazz with influences from Middle Eastern music, Jewish tradition and classical music. His sound is rooted but constantly evolving, characterised by a strong sense of melody and narrative, and a physicality that makes it dense and pulsating. For Cohen, the double bass is not just harmonic support, but the main voice and instrument of sonic exploration. At his side, pianist Itay Simhovich and percussionist Eviatar Slivnik bring innovation and freshness, creating perfect synergy. On stage, the trio is a perfectly oiled machine, but never predictable, where the tension between control and expressiveness creates a unique dialogue. The concert at the LAC is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a world of sound where every note has weight, every pause enriches the musical discourse and every variation opens the door to a new direction.
