Do Europe and North America’s dance scenes approach the concept of heritage differently? In this conversation, established dance producer and International Advisor at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Cathy Levy (CA), speaks with dance writer Emily May (UK/DE) about how heritage is preserved, transmitted, and reinterpreted across specific cultural and institutional contexts.

Discussion points will range from the relevance of restaging productions in an art form driven by the new, to who decides what enters national canons, and whether marginalised voices are increasingly being brought into this framework.
