The years since the release of her latest album of new songs, Volevo fare la rockstar, have been filled with major projects, and Carmen Consoli is ready for a new live event: a theatre tour that will see her performing from October 2025 and will stop at the LAC.
For the Catania-born artist, live performances are not only a chance to meet and interact with her audience, but also an opportunity for experimentation and research that helps define her instantly recognisable and deeply distinctive sound. The many influences that contribute to her musical identity – folk music, 1970s rock and 1990s indie, singer-songwriting and blues – come together in compact harmonies, each of which gives a different flavour to the musical project she is involved in at the time.
Carmen has launched many projects in the three years since her last release: the amazing duo with Elvis Costello, two world tours that took her across the Americas and Europe, Terra ca nun senti, a project for which she founded the first Sicilian folk music orchestra and with which she has played in wonderful archaeological sites and venues of great historical and cultural value, bringing the sounds and musical tradition of her homeland to the world, the power rock tour with Marina Rei on drums and, finally, the project on Domenico Modugno and Ignazio Buttitta. Next autumn, he will return to the theatre, to the warm, soft acoustics of those halls and the affectionate closeness of the audience.
