Born in Italy and of Swiss origin, Elena Boillat works as a performer and multifaceted creator. Her work revolves around various initiatives in the fields of the performing arts and independent culture, encompassing projects, performances, collaborations, and experimental, educational, and research-based processes. Over the years, she has developed an interdisciplinary approach that centers on the body as a poetic act, moving between expression, perception, and resonance. Through a trans-linguistic practice, Elena explores gesture, voice, gaze, sound, and silence as potential traces and manifestations, enacted within expanded and intensified spaces and times. She holds a degree in DAMS from the University of Florence. She graduated as a dancer and performer from the Paolo Grassi Academy in Milan. As a scholar of the voice and breath, she recently completed advanced training in the ATT® method in Rome, earning certification as a teacher. She trained with international masters and choreographers such as Maria Consagra, Luciana Melis, Dominique Dupuy, Enzo Cosimi, Ariella Vidach, and Kuniaki Ida. She also studied with Atsushi Takenouchi, through whom she was introduced to butoh dance. She made her debut in Switzerland with the solo piece *La forme de l’âme* by director F. Rosso, for which she served as both choreographer and performer, creating a physical drama inspired by philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy’s *59 Indices on the Body*; the project was selected for the Modern Body Festival in The Hague in 2016. She won the cantonal call for proposals for cultural mediation in dance promoted by DECS Ticino and Reso with the project *Mimesis*, a performance/installation for a single spectator, which toured several Swiss cities during TanzFest 2019. Selected by Pro Helvetia for the Camping 19 master class program at the CND in Paris. In Italian-speaking Switzerland, she is a co-founder of the Ticino is burning movement—Swiss Performing Arts Award 2022. Starting in 2023, Elena has been engaged in her first research project on the acoustic voice, which culminated in the performance *Partiturazero*, one of the winning projects of the PREMIO SCHWEIZ 24.
