Would it be nice to chat about opera and, at the same time, rediscover the art of a manual activity that allows you to create something from scratch while finding a relaxed and welcoming setting? Tricot Café is born !
This particular Tricot Café event is related to the operatic diptych that will be brought to the stage in September La voix humaine / Cavalleria rusticana by Francis Poulenc / Pietro Mascagni.
A general introduction to the authors Giovanni Verga and Jean Cocteau and the corresponding texts Cavalleria rusticana and La voix humaine, as well as Emma Dante's directorial work, will be offered. Correspondences with their historical and literary contexts will be explored as we gather to knit. In the context of a relaxed, aggregative moment, the thread of knitting will be interwoven with the scenarios of the opera and the protagonists of two stories that are profoundly different but share the theme of loneliness and heartache.
