A convivial moment to approach the new musical and theatrical season through the lens of art and an aperitif to continue to explore the relationship between the arts in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Having reached the moment of the aperitif, the day can be considered over; why not introduce this moment with an in-depth look at art and music? The new season at the LAC will open with Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana and Francis Poulenc's La voix humaine, operatic works that will allow visitors to approach landscapes poised between realism and symbolism by artists Filippo Franzoni and Ferdinand Hodler, to whom MASI is dedicating an exhibition between April and August 2025. Philosopher Silvio Joller will accompany the audience to an understanding of the atmosphere of Cavalleria rusticana through the works of the two Swiss artists, and then open a space toward La voix humaine of the mid-20th century. The meeting will be followed by a brief exchange of thoughts and opinions, enriched by a convivial moment.

Silvio Joller studied philosophy at the University of Pavia and was assistant professor of Aesthetics at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio from 2002 to 2009. He specialized in philosophical practices for children and adults and has worked with the Art Museum of Italian Switzerland and LAC edu as a guide and cultural mediator since 2015. He is particularly interested in artistic language and in bringing the public closer to art.
