“It is in play and only while playing that the individual, child or adult, can be creative and use their whole personality, and it is only while being creative that the individual can discover themselves” (Donald W. Winnicott).
LAC edu, the LAC’s eductional branch, offers activities for children from 4 to 10 years old who, through play and creativity, under the supervision of an artist, will create and decorate the sails of many little boats which will float on the lake in front of the new Arts Centre.
The project, curated by Silvia Paradela, an artist and arts educator, is part of the cultural education activities for the visual arts aimed at children and families promoted by LAC edu.
Inside the new LAC building, in the areas at the entrance to the Museum, children can work on the concept of ‘compositon’, using all their imagination and creativity, using simple recyled materials and coloured geometrical forms.
The little boats will then be launched with a brief fun ceremony in the area of the lake in front of the LAC.
Duration of the activity
30 minutes to create the boats’ sail.
At the end of the workshop the boats will be launched.
