documentary on the multimedia show Montréal Avudo / Compagnia Finzi Pasca

#LACdacasaCompagnia Finzi Pasca

In spring and summer 2017 the Compagnia Finzi Pasca, upon invitation from the city of Montreal (through its Society of the 375th) presented, in the old port of Montreal, the multimedia show Montreal Avudo.

As producers and creators, during 3 years the Compagnia developed this concept by merging multiple technologies with the poetic language of the company.

The creation team played with the effect and juxtaposition of images, transforming the city through the seasons, ages and weather. With the aid of sound effects, projections and water choreography, theMontréal Avudo experience lead viewers through frames, where the images’ poetry expressed itself thanks to the simplicity of emotions.

“The show wants to pay a poetic homage to the river - says Daniele Finzi Pasca - that passes through time and the seasons, navigating through stories that intersect and concern everyone. The show addresses the emotional relationship between the Saint Lawrence River, the city of Montreal, its neighborhoods, its actors and people. It is a non-linear trip that includes encounters with famous and less known people who have made Montreal the multicultural city it is today. We talk about those who live there, those who arrived after, those who built the city and those who left to connect Montreal to the rest of the world.”
