Piano Trio in B-flat major, op. 11 Gassenhauer
Robert Schumann has a special place in Heinz Holliger's heart.
Romancendres (as Gesänge der Frühe in the past) are inspired by the figure of the German composer and pay tribute to him as a reminiscence of the Romances for cello and piano that Schumann's wife Clara burnt after the composer's death.
Holliger will associate Schumann's the Three Romances op. 94 with Five Pieces in Folk Style, a true masterpiece of the chamber music literature.
He will be joined by Anita Leuzinger and Anton Kerjak, with whom he recorded these pieces in 2013 for ECM Records.
