LAC Goals

Michel Gagnon, director LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura

The LAC’s goal is to promote the visual arts, music, the performing arts and various artistic initiatives, focusing on quality, with the aim of involving and educating as vast and international audience as possible.

“The LAC is positioned to become an  arts venue open to all and also with an international dimension. The Arts Centre will provide a single space for artistic creation, hosting the visual and performing arts as well as music; enabling fruitful interaction and which will attract a wide-ranging, diverse audience, both local and international.  The LAC will offer high quality programming and will provide a home for those working in the arts in Ticino, as well as enabling cooperation with international artists. The  LAC will be open to a diverse public; the Arts Centre will be dynamic and appeal to a wide range of audiences through exhibitions and performances, but also thanks to a myriad of activities and interactive events. There will also be an extensive educational programme to which I am very committed and which involves all the arts, enabling young people, families, arts lovers, the general public and visitors to discover the arts. LAC Edu is therefore yet another pillar of this new Arts Centre. It is my wish that the LAC becomes one of the main catalysts for the growth of the City and the Region, thus strengthening Lugano’s identity as a cultural crossroads between the north and the south of Europe.” - Michel Gagnon
